The Lolland Falster Food Embassy became the Food People's Meeting

In 2013, Engestofte Estate was selected in the competition Fremtidens Herregård published by Realdania. The competition proposal was a food embassy for Lolland Falster and the prize was a 50% subsidy for the reconstruction of the Old Barn. When the renovation was over, the challenge came: What is a food embassy? With us, it became the idea for the Food People's Meeting. It's been several years in the making, so we were very proud to present the first of its kind this year. To make it all fly, we have got an absolutely terrific board and FOOD to be in charge of the production. Without both of them, the Food People's Meeting could never have been realized.

Debates, food crafts, delicious food, music and party

The core of Maden's People's Meeting is the conversation. This is where we unfold the major debates about Denmark's future food systems, take the temperature on current topics in the food debate and get up close and personal with the role and value of food in modern society.

The Food People's Meeting is for all of us who think about what we eat and how it is made. For those of us who prepare food and foodstuffs, whether at home, in a nursing home, a gourmet restaurant or on a tractor out in the field.

Food knowledge is also something for the young generation

A great effort is to pass on some knowledge to children and young people. At the first Madens Folkemøde, there were a total of 35 events just for children and young people. Here, among others, taught University of Copenhagen, Kbh Madhus, COOP and many more...
